Important Informations

Awareness

If you feel uncomfortable or need support, reach out to the Awareness Team (pink vests). They are equipped with water and snacks and can accompany you to a protected space. We aim to create a safe and respectful environment where everyone looks out for each other. Harassment, discrimination and violations of our demo consensus will not be tolerated. Creating this space is a collective responsibility – be mindful and act in solidarity.

Medical Aid / First Aid

For medical emergencies, a team from Sani-Kollektiv Basel will be on site. You can recognise them by their bright orange pants. One team will be stationed near the FemStreik sound truck at the front of the demo. Another team will move through the crowd during the demonstration and is available to help.

External Disruptions and Discriminatory Behavior

If there are external disturbances, we can respond together with a collective “Go away!” → Our goal is to de-escalate and avoid violence at all costs. In case of escalation, we try to inform the demo coordination quickly via our info chain. That’s why it’s important to alert the nearest Awareness Team – they are here to support you. If you witness or experience discrimination within the demo: Look out for one another and contact the Awareness Team. Act in solidarity and according to the needs of the affected person(s).

Call if you witness arrests or police controls – best via Signal and anonymously. Only share information the authorities already know. Let them know again if the person has been released.

Demo support team / Solidarity Cis Men

We have made an active decision to have solidarity cis men cover the police-requested demo route safety role (orange vests). Why? So women, inter, non-binary, trans, genderqueer and agender people don’t have to carry extra responsibility that day. The task is limited to marking the demo route – they’ve been clearly instructed not to intervene in anything else.

Appearance ≠ Gender

This demo centres women, inter, non-binary, trans, genderqueer and agender people. Cis men may join but are asked to stay in the back. Gender identity is not visible, and no one will be excluded based on appearance. No assumptions. No policing of others’ identities.

Speeches

All speeches will take place before the march starts – at Barfüsserplatz or Theodorskirchplatz (short route). There will be no speeches during or after the demonstration. If you have questions or would like to discuss this, message us via Instagram or email us at

Sign Language

All speeches at Barfüsserplatz will be translated into sign language. The interpreter will be clearly visible on site, and we’ll try to include the translation in our Instagram livestream.

Live Stream

As in previous years, we will livestream the speeches from Barfüsserplatz and Theodorskirchplatz on Instagram Live. This way, people who cannot or do not wish to attend in person can still access the content.
